  1. I hope you're reading this.
    I'm looking for the Lacie 2big 16tb or 20tb. I got a canon R6 and film in 4K.
I already have a Sandisk 500gb SSD, but for a bigger project I need more storage.
Do you have experience in editing 4k footage off of the lacie 2big?

  2. As someone that's starting to put together a vlog – this is very helpful. I do have a question though! I will be using my iPhone 11 Pro Max (shooting in 4k from the Moment app). Is the Samsung T5 and/or the LaCie compatible with the iPhone? Would I be able to transfer all of my videos from my iPhone to one of these external drives?? thanks so much

  3. There are a few things for speeding up Macs at home
Use the Activity Monitor. If you want to see what apps are using up your system, open the Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder.
Turn off visual effects. Most Macs are now capable of running Mac OS X Mavericks.
Update your software (and it set to auto update)
    Clean up your hard drive.

  4. maybe this is my bad english listening, but do I get better performance while editing in premiere pro, if I edit in an external SSD? Do I improve playback timeline smoothness or rendering speeds by using one of these external SSD?

  5. Just got off the phone with Dell tech support an concluded that I had to do a windows reinstall, now look where I am. You got everything Armando!!

  6. Armando, love your channel, the quality of content and production value is high. But dude, I just have to comment on what you said about the Samsung T5 that kinda bothered me. You mention that it isn’t perfect because 1. It’s small and you can lose it. 2. If you drop it it will break and lose data? WHAT? Those aren’t issues product issues…those are user errors. 3. You cannot add additional capacity…seriously? And finally 4. there’s no back up mechanism for this drive…scratching my head. Anyways, I still love watching your stuff and I learn a lot. I was just annoyed about the T5 comments.

  7. Another great video! I love my T5 and for our NAS we opted for the WD PR2100 which is great for the price. Also a quick option for sharing media on the go I just did a review on a device called the RAVPower FileHub. The FileHub will backup any SD card directly to a HDD or SSD with one push of a button, no need for a computer, its self powered and it also works as a 5G WiFi router for only $60!!!! Thanks again for your content, keep up the awesome work!

  8. Hi, great video! I'm really struggling right now with storage due to the volume/size of my YouTube videos especially because I primarily shoot in 4K (recently). Why not the SanDisk's Extreme Portable SSD? It has a carabiner clip and so it won't get lost. Thoughts?

  9. If my only option is to get the 2019 macbook pro with 16gb of ram, an i7, and 256gb of storage, do you think I would be good by just getting an external ssd?

  10. I don't think the Samsung T5 is an NVMe drive. They have a more expensive NVMe version though, which is taken advantage of by Thunderbolt 3. The one in this video is just USB-C I believe.

  11. A word of warning about RAID 0, since you didn't mention this in the video. RAID 0 with two drives ALMOST DOUBLES the probability of array failure and catastrophic data loss compared to a single drive. It gets worse with more drives in RAID 0. If one drive fails, ALL the data on the array is lost, not just data on that one drive (because it's striped.) Thus RAID 0 is great for caching or other data that you can afford to lose, but I would never use it for actual footage, except maybe as temporary storage.

  12. Great video. It really help me choose which external drive to pick. Is that your new MacBook Pro you have in the video? How are you liking it. Will you be doing Video on it as well

  13. Hi Armando, would this still apply for video editing in FINAL CUT PRO? I recently edited a 5 min 360 video & realized that alone took nearly 20GB on my mac… Would love to upgrade storage space & the first 2 methods would be ideal for me, what do you think? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. BTW I'm a noob, I don't even own a decent camera yet, so any input would be appreciated.
