My story: I am a first batch BCA grad from Hyderabad, graduated in 2003. The course has a lot of emphasis in programming and management of information systems, you will learn both practical programming and management concepts. I did a masters meant exclusively for BCA called MSc in Information Systems.
BCA and MScIS teaches a lot of programming (C++, Java, Advanced Java etc), software methodologies and management, so, if you pick BCA you can't go wrong with choice of subjects.
One negative, also a universal issue with our education system, I studied in University campus for my masters, the university is supposed to have the best quality faculty, but no, we had pathetic faulty who had neither subject matter nor teaching skills.
If you are joining BCA, be prepared to do a lot of self learning (like me and my friends did) and you will be fine.
My life after BCA: Got multiple job offers after graduating(not campus recruitment), settled in US for past 13 years.
